Recognised Relationship - Student Allowance definition

A recognised relationship (from 1 January 2009) is when you are both 24 or over and in a relationship such as marriage, a civil union, or a de facto relationship with someone of the same or opposite sex. If either of you is under 24 years old, at least one of you must have a child in your care to be in a recognised relationship.
