Regular and Ongoing Expenses - general definition

This is a general definition for regular and ongoing expenses.

Regular and ongoing expenses include:

Accommodation costs

Accommodation costs includes paying rent, board or costs associated with owning your own home such as mortgage, house insurance or rates

Credit sales (hire purchase) and regular costs

Credit sales (hire purchase) and regular costs for essential items such as beds, fridge, heaters, washing machine and television.

Health and disability costs

Health and disability costs which are expenses that are associated with a temporary condition not expected to last more than six months; or are costs that are more than your Disability Allowance pays for.

Employment costs

Employment costs which are expenses that assist you to remain in employment. They include vehicle running costs, public transport to employment, childcare and telephones (if these are a condition of employment).

Telephone costs

Telephone costs including phone rental, if you or your family circumstances require you to have a telephone for safety or security reasons.
