Your StudyLink Student Loan statement

11 January 2008

StudyLink sends out Student Loan statements to borrowers three times a year. End of year statements were sent out to students from 7 January 2008.

About interest on your statement

StudyLink sends out Student Loan statements to borrowers three times a year.  End of year statements were sent out to students from 7 January 2008.

You'll see that interest still shows on your Student Loan statement from StudyLink. Don't worry.

If you're eligible for an interest free Student Loan you don't need to do anything. You are eligible for an interest free Student Loan unless you go overseas for more than 6 months.

Inland Revenue is the only organisation that can write off interest from Student Loans.

The interest will be written-off automatically after 31 March next year. This will show on statements Inland Revenue send you in May.

For more information about interest free Student Loans check out our Student Loan page on our website or Inland Revenue's website via the links below.

Loan repayments

Because your employer pays your loan repayments directly to Inland Revenue, any repayments you have made to Inland Revenue won't show on your StudyLink loan statement.

Once your loan account has been transferred from StudyLink to Inland Revenue,  repayments you have made will show on your Inland Revenue loan statements.
