Got your NCEA results?
17 January 2012
Now that you have received your NCEA results, you can find out what you need to do to get yourself sussed for tertiary study.
If you’re going to tertiary study for the first time in 2012, there are some things you need to know.
1. Understand what study might cost you
When you’re considering tertiary study, you're going to have a lot of choices to make. Take our online Sussed reality check to get you on your way. The Sussed reality check is a tool designed to help you plan and understand the costs you will have while studying.
2. Sort the money for study
Once you understand the costs and have decided where you want to study, you need to get onto sorting the money for study. You can check out what financial assistance you may be eligible for using the ‘what you can get’ eligibility test. You can also use the Student Allowance Rate Calculator to find out how much you may be eligible for.
Note: The “what you can get” eligibility test is part of the application process, so at the end you can either save and come back to it later or continue on and make your application. If you decide not to save it, you will need to complete this step again when you apply online.
3. Find out about the application process and what evidence you will need
Check out the application process and the evidence and information you need to provide before you apply so you know what to expect and have everything ready when you apply.
4. Make you application
Once you have made all your decisions and understand the cost of study, you need to get onto making your application.
Make sure you apply well before your course starts, otherwise you might not get paid on time. If your course starts at the end of February/beginning of March you need to apply now.
