StudyLink Scholarships

StudyLink previously offered two scholarships, the Bonded Merit Scholarship and the Step Up Scholarship.  As part of the Budget announcement made on 28 May 2009, the Government announced that the Step Up Scholarship and Bonded Merit Scholarship schemes will be disestablished. This means that no new awards will be made from this date.

If you already have a scholarship

Students who have already been awarded a Step Up or Bonded Merit Scholarship will continue to be entitled to receive their scholarship, as long as they continue to meet the Terms and Conditions of their scholarship.

The Government has also decided to relax some of the Terms and Conditions of the scholarships.

Find out more about the changes to these scholarships and their Terms and Conditions.

Scholarship responsibilities

If you get a Bonded Merit Scholarship or Step Up Scholarship there are certain obligations you have to meet while you're studying.

Some changes in your circumstances may also impact on your ability to keep getting the scholarship, so it's important you're familiar with these and that you talk to us if anything changes or you have any questions.

Other scholarships you might be able to get

Scholarships are a great way to fund your study and they are open to a wide range of students. They can range from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars.
