Transcript: How to apply for course-related costs

We follow Jessica as she talks about how to apply online for course-related costs.

Jessica is using her laptop, sitting at the kitchen bench in her flat and is going to show you how to apply online for her course-related costs.  She says:  

To apply for your course-related costs you will need to login to your MyStudyLink account.

From the home page click on ‘Login' on the MyStudyLink button.

1. Now enter your username and password and click Login.

2. Next enter your passphrase, you will be asked to enter 3 characters from your passphrase.  If your passphrase is ‘graduation' you would select   ‘R' ‘A' ‘T'.

You will now be logged in to MyStudyLink.

To apply for your course-related costs, click on Apply Online on the left hand navigation bar.

3. Select ‘view and apply for Student Loan course-related costs'.

If you don't currently have a Student Loan you will not be able to apply for Student Loan course-related costs.  You will need to Apply Online for a Student Loan first.  

4. If you have already applied for your Student Loan and have received a letter from StudyLink saying you can now apply for your course-related costs, then select apply for course-related costs.

Remember, you don't have to claim all your costs at once. Just specify when you apply how much you need.  You can always come back to MyStudyLink and apply for the rest later. 

Cut back to Jessica,

You can claim the rest at any time up until your course finishes. Course-related costs are paid directly to your bank account. The earliest we can do this is 14 days before your course starts. Remember StudyLink may also ask you to provide evidence of your costs.
