To apply online for your Student Allowance or Loan you'll need:

• your bank account details
• your IRD number
• your email address
• the name of the education provider(s) you will be studying at (it's ok if you're not sure yet – you can change these details later)
• your course start and end dates (approximate is fine).

Note: there may be additional information required depending on your circumstances. Please make sure you read the "check you have everything you require" section after you have completed the eligibility test.

The first part of your application is an eligibility test that tells you what type/s of financial assistance you might be able to get. The eligibility test is not an application.

At the end of the test you can either save and come back to it later or continue on and make your application. You can also save your application at any stage.

After you have "submitted" your application, we will let you know what you need to do next.

Remember: you need to make sure you’re fully enrolled before we can complete your application.
