Are you in your final year at secondary school?
06 June 2019.
Things you need to think about and plan for if you’re going to study next year.
Help deciding what you want to do
You’ll need to make some decisions about your studies, for example, you'll need to figure out:
- where and what to study
- how much it will cost
- how to pay for it.
The 'Can you afford to study?' section of our website is a good place to go for help making some of these decisions.
Check if you can get fees-free study
Whether you’re thinking about doing a degree or training for an apprenticeship, if you’re studying for the first time you may be able to get fees-free study. Check the Fees Free website to see if you quallify.
Help with other costs
Our website has lots of information about the sorts of support we offer, such as Student Allowances, Student Loans and extra help.
If you can get fees-free study you may not need a Student Loan for your course fees, but you may still need to apply for a loan if you need course-related costs or living costs.
You may be able to get a Student Allowance to help with your living expenses.
