Claim course-related costs
You can claim course-related costs at any stage during your study if you're studying full-time.
Important information
Course-related costs are part of a Student Loan so you'll need to pay them back.
If you're eligible, you can borrow up to $2,000 in course-related costs as part of your Student Loan. This is temporarily increased by $1,000 in response to COVID-19.
The extra amount is only available if you’re studying during 2020. This means you:
- are already studying in 2020, or
- will begin studying in 2020.
The extra amount available is a maximum of $1,000, even if you have more than one Student Loan during 2020. You don't have to borrow the full amount. You also don't need to claim it all at once.
What you need to do
If you've already got a Student Loan, you can claim course-related costs online in MyStudyLink.
You don't have to get the full amount of $2,000. You also don't need to claim it all at once.
What happens next
If your study has already started, we'll process your claim once we receive it and pay you within 24-72 working hours.
