Changes to payments from 1 April 2023
14 March 2023.
On 1 April 2023 student support and payment rates will increase due to the Annual General Adjustment.
This includes Student Allowance and Student Living Costs.
Check out the new rates:
These rates are indicative and subject to Cabinet approval.
Your first payment in April
Your first payment in April will be partly paid at the new rates. This is because 1 April falls on a Saturday, which is partway through the pay period.
You'll get the full increase in your second payment in the week of Monday 10 April.
Some payment dates could change due to Easter.
You can view your new payment rates in MyStudyLink from 3 April 2023.
About the increase
The Annual General Adjustment is a yearly process of adjusting benefit and payment rates to account for inflation.
The changes will happen automatically
Changes to Student Allowance payments will happen automatically, you don’t need to do anything. If you've requested for Student Loan to be adjusted automatically each year, you don't need to do anything either.
