Appointments

If you need an appointment, you'll need to call us to make one and we'll tell you what to bring.

The table below lists when you need an appointment and what you need to do if you don't need one. If you need to attend an appointment, check what you need to bring with you.

Reason What to do
Check if you're eligible You don't need an appointment.
You can complete an eligibility test to find out what types of help you may be eligible for.
Applying for student support eg, Student Loan and Student Allowance You don't need an appointment.You can apply online
Applying for other payments eg, childcare, disability allowance You don't need an appointment.
You can complete an eligibility test and download the forms to apply.
Once you have filled in the required forms you can upload your documents without having to send them to us.
Help with an immediate, essential or emergency cost that you cannot afford to pay for right now You will need to call us to make an appointment.
We may be able to help you pay for items or services you need urgently, if you can’t pay for it.
Advising us of a change in circumstances You don't need an appointment.You can update some of these changes in MyStudyLink
Provide supporting documentation, forms or evidence You don't need an appointment.
Once you have filled in the required forms you can upload your documents without having to send them to us.

You must bring original documents or verified copies

Identification

You must bring 1 form of identification, eg:

  • passport
  • driver licence
  • student ID
  • Community Services Card.

Applying for an urgent cost

If you're applying for help with an urgent cost (eg, bond, dental treatment), you need to bring evidence of the costs of what you need (unless you're applying for food or petrol).

Other

If you're working, you'll need to bring evidence of your income, eg payslips.

If you have assets, you'll need to bring evidence of these, eg a bank statement.

If you have a partner

You must bring the same documents for them.
