Your obligations while getting payments from us
There are things you need to do when you get a payment from us. If you don't do them, your payments could reduce or stop.
What you have to do depends on what payment you're getting.
Student Allowance
If you're getting a Student Allowance, you will have responsibilities, including:
- telling us about any changes in your circumstances
- telling us if you withdraw from a paper or course, and
- passing more than half your course.
Student Loan
When you have a Student Loan, you will have responsibilities, including:
- telling us about any changes in your circumstances
- telling us if you withdraw from a paper or course
- passing your course
- understanding your Student Loan contract, and
- repaying your Student Loan.
Jobseeker Support Student Hardship
There are things you need to do when you're getting a Jobseeker Support Student Hardship benefit. If you don't do them, your benefit could reduce or stop.
If you're 18 or 19, you may have additional obligations relating to a Parental Assistance Test.
If you have a partner, there are things they'll need to do as well.
Emergency Benefit
There are things you need to do when you're getting an Emergency Benefit. If you don't do them, your benefit could reduce or stop.
