Public transport fares

You can get a 50% discount on single-trip adult fares on public transport if you have a Community Services Card. This discount is part of the Community Connect programme. You need to apply for the discount through your local transport provider.

Check with your local public transport provider what discounts are available and which ones are the best for you.

You can get the Community Connect discount if you have a Community Services Card (CSC).

First, you need to apply for a Community Services Card if you don't already have one.

How to apply for a Community Services Card
Important information

Once you have a Community Services Card, you can apply for the Community Connect discount through your local transport provider.

Visit your local transport provider's website to find out how to apply. We've listed some of them in the table below.

You can get a free travel card when you apply for Community Connect. You may need to load a minimum of $5 onto the new card. Check with your local transport provider for more information.

Bee Card Beecard - Community Connect

Other discounts will be made available as part of the Community Connect programme, but may not be available straight away in your region. These include:

  • free fares for children aged 12 and under, and
  • a 50% discount for anyone aged 13 to 24.

You can check with your local transport provider for more information about when these will be available and how to apply.

If you have public transport included as a cost for payments such as Disability Allowance or Temporary Additional Support, please tell us your new costs when you start using any Community Connect concession. This may affect the amount you get for these types of payments.
